Another look ahead to Draft
Cardinals still have a few needs still when it comes to this years team. They have also done a nice job solidifying some positions with the acquisitions of Chandler Jones, Evan Mathis and Tyson Branch. There are a few rumors floating out there on what they will do as well, just like leading up to any draft.
Some of the possibilities include us addressing the center position, linebacker or corner. I have even heard the thought of moving Michael Floyd and or trading out of the first round. With all of this in consideration, here is my first round projection. I believe the Cardinals will address the Center position with their first pick this year. There are 2 really quality centers available that would grade as a possible 1st or 2nd round pick, Alabama center Ryan Kelly 6-4 311lbs and Notre Dame center Nick Martin 6-4 301lbs.
The most ideal situation is that the Cardinals could trade back and acquire an additional pick and still be able to acquire one of these centers, Martin could very well be available at the later part of round two. Their first round pick may be very attractive to a team trying to jump ahead and draft a QB just before Denver.
We all know that even the draft experts only get about 8% of the first round picks correct, so if the above actually were to happen, I would look like a genius. Most likely it won’t and I am going to assume they stay put for the purpose of making a prediction. With the 29th overall pick of the 2016 NFL draft, I have the Cardinals selecting Ryan Kelly.
This pick will hopefully be the final piece to what can be a dominating offensive line for years to come.
